That time of year again...

Fri May 1, 2009, 4:02 PM
I apologize to anyone who was anxiously awaiting another update from me, if indeed there are... But this past month has been a particularly busy one. Between work on the Iron Man, projects for my figure drawing class, and my jewelry making class I have been uncommonly productive; especially with the end of the semester deadlines approaching.
Aside from this my schedule was complicated when my Grandma broke her hip (happily she is doing as well as could be hoped for) which called me to fulfill duties to my family.
Also the home computer is refusing to bring up anything on the internet, delaying my postings.

You know, after writing all that down it sounds kinda depressing. On to better news!

Having heard that the first of three parts of the twelfth and last book of the Wheel of Time series will be coming out this winter, I have begun reading the other eleven books to refresh myself with the plots. Eleven six or seven hundred page books with more characters, storylines, and a more detailed fictional world than I've yet found anywhere else can get a bit confusing even for me. I've almost finished the first book and I fear it is already having an effect on my writing.

Anyway, till next time.

Once more, with FEELING.

Fri Mar 27, 2009, 12:16 PM
So, as I'm taking sculpture II this semester I decided it was past time I revisited the human figure in found metal. But, seeing as I have little time to do it in, I decided to do it in much the same way I did the last one.

Only this time, it will be male.

Yes. I shall build an Iron Man to go with the Iron Maiden. And this time I shall take pictures to document my progress. I have already gathered most of the large pieces, and started putting some of it together.

21 years...

Thu Jan 29, 2009, 12:50 PM
So, Tuesday I turned 21 years old.
This means I am now able to buy and drink alcohol, purchase handguns, and run for most political offices. Legally anyway.

I've also begun classes for this semester. Sculpture II, Jewelry making II, and Figure Drawing one. All of them are rather long classes, hence only three so far, but I've been wanting to take them for some time.

Monday I drew my first nude model. I'll admit it was a bit... distracting, but I think it was a success.
I staked out an easel of to the side near the corner, not wanting the model to be looking strait at me to start with. Little did I know that the curtain and bench behind me was the dressing room.
It was a little awkward, drawing a completely naked and pretty woman, but I got over it and concentrated on the drawings. They turned out well enough in my opinion, though I wish I'd had enough time to do a better job on the faces.

Eastern Oklahoma has been covered in ice since Monday night. So I've not gotten to celebrate my Birthday much, but at least the power hasn't gone out.

Adios

I saw three ships on Christmas Day...

Thu Dec 25, 2008, 9:02 AM
...On Christmas Day, On Christmas Day.
I saw three ships on Christmas Day,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And I've got that song stuck in my head, but don't know any more of the words. I was with the Family in Silver Dollar City the past few days, and they were playing that song with their Giant Christmas Tree Light Show .
For a long time I thought it was 'I saw THROUGH ships on Christmas..." but my sister thankfully corrected me.

Anyway, many blessings of the season to all who happen to read this. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Crackin' Kwanzaa, Spicy Solstice, and a Happy New Year.

(Yes 'Happy Holidays is easier, but I think things are more interesting when they're specific.)

Thanksgiving Breaking

Mon Nov 24, 2008, 1:09 PM
No School for six days! Plenty of time to actually build something or to just slack off for almost a week. I'll not be placing any bets on which I'll be doing, but would be interested to hear the odds.
Also, I joined a Club! I'm not usually a group minded person, but when I heard captainbezier [link] was starting a Steampunk Club [link] ... I just couldn't resist. There's not many pieces in the gallery yet, but they are good ones nevertheless.
I'll probably have something to update with on Monday, so I'll see whoever happens to read this then. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Adios,
AGMorgan
