Here's my baby. Contra posta figure in found metal, AKA Iron Maiden, AKA C3-P-HOE. Cut and shaped with grinders, chop saws, drills, hammers, and and anvil. Then welded together with a tig welder.
The Iron Maiden by ~AGMorgan This metal sculpture is like straight from a sci fi novel. You'll appreciate the time and dedication put into creating this Iron Maiden. (

I love this its eveything i want to acheve from being an art studant ive been doing some relly small assembaly scupures but i relly want to move on to bigger welded stuff like her but its not gonna happen for a while. Insperational
Thanks but you know it is all in the eye of the beholder. I am just such a horder, i have old engineering parts metal offcuts and bits of wood stockpiled everywhere so i don't know why it never really occured to make some assemblage pieces. Cast bronze is so expensive and time consuming but generally through the process there is the oppertunity to make editions or multiples of the same piece. the beauty of something like Iron maiden is you or the buyer knows that she is so completely unique! Awesome!
Wow she is fantastic! Do you exhibit her , and if so do you find yourself adding or doing just a little more everytime she goes on show. I always find there is more to do, sculpture seems like the kind of work that never finishes as long as you have it!
I've not had much opportunity to show her at... shows. Had her in a gallery in Eureka Springs for about a year.
There's a few things I'd like to add, but I need to find the right pieces first. Yes if you don't watch yourself you could keep working on something forever.
