I'm trying to figure out how to use colored pencils well. And as you can see I'm not having much luck, yet.

Max himself is a character in one of my potential stories.
Maxwell O'mally, Irishman, musician, punk rocker, last heir of Morgan the Fay, and founding member of Lock & Key Co. The last one being what the story is mostly about.

But yes the coloring sucks.

I always knew that must be the case. At least since they stopped letting you carry your swords anyway.

Well no, I've been learning swordsmanship since I was knee-high and to be honest, it is technically not illegal to carry a sword. It's illegal to brandish a sword, or cause a disturbance with one...carrying it in the open usually constitutes a disturbance...it is, however illegal to carry knuckle dusters...Ironic, no?

practice makes perfect, but i personelly don't like colouerd pencils cus to me they seam annoyingly bland but in this pic u have used them pretty well,

Thanks, I'll figure them out eventually. I'm sure there's a way to get them to stand out better, though.

tried cross hatching ? i find good for blending and puts a 3d type effect on the 3 colour blend while usieng pencils

I'd say you're using colored pencils quite well, just practice a little more with shading/blending techniques and staying within the lines. Otherwise this is really cool.

Thanks, I must admit, I drew it siting outside a music venue and colored it in failing light. That probably contributed to the skrewyness of it.
