I have also made a forged/welded rose, but it didnt came out as good as this one.
But you seem to have used another technique than I in how you made the flower. Is the rose petals separate objects that are welded on to each other? My rose have petals that are made of sliced round discs, and there is about four petals on each disc.
At the time I was making it, my friend was building a dune buggy. He had to 'fish mouth' steel tubing to fit it together, leaving half circle scraps shaped like crescents and half moons.
I welded these together to make the petals and leaves. It was pretty simple so long as the supply of scraps was there.
I checked your gallery, but saw no rose. I'd like to see it before you go saying it didn't come out well.
