Iron Rose by AGMorgan Iron Rose by AGMorgan
This is a flower I made out of scraps of pipe, not long after I made the Maiden.
It looks kinda weird from the flash, Its not really that bright.

So... There.

Really beautiful, love it.
I have also made a forged/welded rose, but it didnt came out as good as this one.

But you seem to have used another technique than I in how you made the flower. Is the rose petals separate objects that are welded on to each other? My rose have petals that are made of sliced round discs, and there is about four petals on each disc.

I'm glad you like it.

At the time I was making it, my friend was building a dune buggy. He had to 'fish mouth' steel tubing to fit it together, leaving half circle scraps shaped like crescents and half moons.

I welded these together to make the petals and leaves. It was pretty simple so long as the supply of scraps was there.

I checked your gallery, but saw no rose. I'd like to see it before you go saying it didn't come out well.

I have uploaded the rose to the gallery. But I am not disappointed with how it turned out. I just think that you have managed to get a better result on yours.

At first glance it seemed like this would be pretty difficult to make,
But compared to some other metal works i've seen (x-x Like your Iron Maiden) this has it's own sort of simple beauty.
Really pretty!

I thank you.
Flowers like this are far more difficult if you don't have the parts just lying around as scrap. Your first glance was not that far off.

I'm making a very similar metal rose inspired by your idea of using pipes. Would you like a picture when I'm done? If so do you mind if i put it on DA, and my college portfolio?

By all means! As long as your not just out right copying it (which would be very difficult from just this photo). I'm sure I'm not the first with this use for pipe fishmouth scraps, though probably one of a very few.
If you make it, you'd better put it on Deviant Art or I'll always wonder how it came out.

Beautiful!
Its really nicely done, I love it!
I made a rose too some years ago.
It was made of it with copper though, and the whole surface was soldered with tin to make it shiney and silver.
I lost it though :(
I'd love to make somehthing of steel too.

Glad you like it.
If I'd lost something like that I'd tear the place apart looking for it. Must have driven you crazy losing it.
Steel is a lot of fun to work with I must say.

The spinning blades of death tend to keep you on your toes, you just gotta be careful. But I will try to tell you when the next woman is finished.
There, you see? I have tried music before, and failed, many times. Just ain't got no rhythm.
What do you play/sing?

looks good , is it hard working with metal and stuff ?

Thank you.
Metal work is not hard at all if you've got the tools. This needed a vice/anvil, hammer, channel lock pliers, and welding equipment. Finding this stuff is half the battle, the rest is mostly beating the metal into shape.

I mean...
Metal work is a skill that takes years of intense training and anguish to learn.
